A youth-team player with Trabzonspor, he made his debut for the club’s junior side, 1461 Trabzon, in January 2016.

He stepped up to the senior side ahead of the 2017/18 campaign and made his Super Lig debut that September in a 4-3 defeat to Alanyaspor.

Impressing boss Ersun Yanal, he became a first-team regular by the end of the season and cemented his position as first-choice the following campaign following the retirement of Onur Kivrak.

Having represented his country from U19 to U21 levels, Ugurcan made the step up to the Turkey senior squad in 2019 and made his debut in a 2-1 friendly defeat of Greece that May.
