Starting his career with Kongsvinger IL, Kees made one league appearance for the Norwegian side before returning to the Netherlands with Den Bosch in 2014.

He made 125 appearances for the Eerste Divisie club in four seasons prior to a move to RKC Waalwijk ahead of the 2018/19 season.

A member of the squad which won promotion in his first season at the club, he made his Eredivisie debut against AZ Alkmaar in August 2019.
