A youth-team player with VfL Wolfsburg, Jonas went on to make 35 league appearances for the club’s second team before a move to Belgian club AS Eupen in 2011.

He was a regular in the First Division B league for three seasons before a return to Germany with Greuther Furth II in 2016.

A move to Norwegian side IK Start followed in 2018 and he made 26 Tippeligaen appearances in his first season with the club.
