The Colombia international goalkeeper began his career with hometown club Independiente Medellin in 2002.
He made 127 league appearances and also had a spell at Deportivo Cali before a move to Turkish club Caykur Rizespor in 2007.
After one full season in the Super Lig, he caught the eye of Manchester City and after a trial period he joined the club in 2009.
David then spent time on loan at both Leeds United and Aberdeen before signing a permanent contract with Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2012 on a short-term deal.
He also spent a short spell with Barnsley at the start of the 2012/13 campaign before returning home to play for Deportivo Pasto.
He then played for Aguilas Doradas in 2014 before a return to Independiente Medellin, where he made over 140 Primera A appearances in four seasons.
David, who has made two senior appearances for Colombia, joined Deportivo Cali in 2020.
