Antony made his professional debut with Club Cerro Cora in 2000 before joining Paraguayan top-flight side Club Libertad three years later.

He appeared in the 2004 Copa Libertadores and famously kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 defeat of Argentine giants River Plate.

Earning a trial period with Portsmouth, he couldn’t agree terms with the Premier League club, and went on to have spells back home with Tacuary, Rubio Nu and Brazilian club Marilia.

In 2010 he joined Colombian side Primera A side Deportes Tolima and made over 170 appearances in four seasons.

He has since appeared for Paraguayan sides 3 de Febrero and Cerro Porteno, likewise Independiente Medellin in Colombia, while in 2019 he switched to Argentine club Huracan.

After making thirty appearances in Argentina’s Primera Division, Antony joined Nacioal in Uriguay for a short spell.

In January 2021 the goalkeeper was on the move again, this time to Mexico, having joined Puebla in the Liga MX.

Antony played for Paraguay from U17 to U23 levels before making his senior debut in a 3-0 friendly win against Honduras in September 2011. He has since made over thirty appearances for his country.
